Generally can get the appointment I want. Just the odd occasion when I cannot.
I am a member of the Patient Focus Group which I think is a really good idea. I actually believe the doctors do listen to what we think!!
I cannot remember when my last appointment was, but put in a date otherwise it would not submit my survey. I like everything about the surgery, and feel that I am receiving first class care from doctor Vishwanathan.
As a working person i find it hard to get an appointment when needed (which is not often). I find the receptionists rude and unhelpful. They look at you as if you are stopping them from doing something else. ( which is normally talking to each other). The service the surgery offers has gone down hill over the years. bring back the doctors and staff that care!
Diabetes care very poor when I was there which is why I left the area - to get better care. When I left the area (2and 1/2 months ago) a new diabetic nurse was at the surgery whom I think was good but I wasn't there long enough to find out.
I spent 2 and 1/2 years at Westgate being told I was a Type 2 diabetic without any tests and then found out, when I moved, that I wasn't. Also, only having appointments every 3 months with the specialist diabetic nurse when my blood sugars were so unstable and I was having a lot of hypos was hopeless.
I do not want anyone else to go through what I went through.
Called at the surgery and was given an appointment to see the nurse the next day
